TROUTMASTERS OF LOUISIANA TOURNAMENT SERIES

RULES AND REGULATIONS
All rules stated below will remain unchanged. All decisions made by the tournament
director and/or the tournament officials will be final in all matters. The tournament
director can make a change when the safety of the contestants is in question.

All State and Federal Wildlife regulations shall apply.

All contestants must have a valid saltwater fishing license at the time of the event.

Eligibility- Entry Fees and Deposits-All 2005 Tournaments will be 2 man team events. One
alternate will be allowed to participate in tournament events, but the alternate must be
designated at the time of season registration. The alternate can be used in any of the
events after the favorable review of circumstances by the tournament director. In the
event of a Championship tournament the use of an alternate is not allowed without
favorable review by the tournament director.

ENTRY FEES AND DEPOSITS

ENTRY FEE: $300.00 PER TEAM PER EVENT

FIELD LIMITED TO 125 BOATS

DEPOSITS: $100.00 PER EVENT

PAYMENT IN CASH,  CHECK OR VISA/MASTERCARD

DEPOSITS ARE DUE WITH REGISTRATION

DEPOSITS ARE REQUIRED FOR EACH EVENT TO SECURE A POSITION IN THE EVENT
If the entry fee is not paid in full by the balance deadline, the team’s spot is subject to
forfeit. Once accepted into the tournament, all deposits and tournament fees are non-
refundable and non-transferable. Teams on the waiting list that do not get a spot in the
tournament will be refunded their deposit.

TEAM OF THE YEAR POINTS

Points will be awarded to all  teams that weigh in a fish at each event. These points will
be used to determine the Team of the Year reward. 200 points will go to first place, 199 to
second place and descending by one point throughout the field. In the event of a tie the
cumulative weight of all fish caught in all three events will determine Team of the Year.

WEIGH-IN AND SCORING

A maximum of three fish per contestant can be in possession. Culling of dead fish is not
allowed. Two day total of fish weighed-in will be 5. No more than 3 fish can be weighed by
a team on either day of the two day event. In the event the tournament is shortened due
to unsafe conditions, the maximum number of fish to be weighed in will remain 3. Only
one fish over 25 inches per team member allowed per day. Minimum length of fish is 16
inches. Any team that violates the above rules will be disqualified from the tournament
event without refund of fees. No fish caught on the previous day of the tournament can
be weighed in on the second day. Frozen or mutilated fish will be disqualified from the
weigh-in. A Tory meter will be used to determine the freshness of a fish and its results
will be final. If the fish is determined not to be same day as weigh in the fish will be
disqualified from weigh-in. Official measuring rule is CHECK-IT STICK. All fish weighed in
will become the property of the tournament. Any deceased fish will be donated to a
charitable organization to be determined by the tournament director.

SPECIAL BONUS

ANY FISHERMAN THAT WEIGH-IN A LIVE TROUT WITHIN THE SLOT LIMIT WILL RECEIVE
8OZS BONUS WEIGHT PER LIVE FISH

THIS IS A LIVE RELEASE TOURNAMENT AND ALL EFFORTS SHOULD BE MADE TO KEEP
YOUR CATCH ALIVE.

NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR NON PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ALLOWED

POLYGRAPH

Winners of each event will be subject to a polygraph examination
All entrants are subject to a polygraph examination for the purpose of determination of
following of the rules and regulations of the tournament.
Any contestant that fails the polygraph examination will forfeit all cash and prizes he
would have received.

SPORTSMANSHIP

ANY CONTESTANT THAT IS DETERMINED NOT TO HAVE DISPLAYED GOOD
SPORTSMANSHIP OR HAS VIOLATED ANY GAME LAWS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.

No contestants boat can be within 25 yards of another participating boat, unless you
have made prior arrangements with the other team.
No blocking of fishing waters will be allowed by contestants or the use of a non-
participating boat to hold or block fishing waters will be allowed. Violations will result  in
disqualification.

BAIT AND TACKLE

LIVE BAIT AND LURES ALLOWED.  ONLY ONE ROD CAN BE USED AT ANY ONE TIME. A
CAST MUST BE FULLY RETRIEVED BEFORE ANOTHER ROD IS USED.

NO FISH  POOLING ALLOWED. YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. NO TWO TEAMS MAY
EXCHANGE FISH.

All contestants must wear approved life jackets when main engine is running. A working
kill switch is required on all boats and must be attached to the Captain of the vessel.
No vessel may exceed the allowable horsepower determined by the manufacturer or the
US Coast Guard.

NO WADE FISHING ALLOWED

CELL PHONES AND VHF RADIOS CAN ONLY BE USED FOR EMERGENCY

AT LEAST ONE MEMBER OF EACH TEAM MUST ATTEND CAPTAINS MEETING ON THE
FRIDAY BEFORE THE EVENT. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT 7:00 pm

FISHING HOURS WILL BE FROM SAFE LIGHT UNTIL 3:30 ON SATURDAY AND UNTIL 2:30
ON SUNDAY.

OFFICIAL TIME WILL BE CHECKED EACH MORNING BEFORE BLAST OFF. FAILURE TO BE
IN WEIGH IN LINE BY OFFICIAL TIME WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION OF THAT DAYS
CATCH

BLAST OFF WILL BE IN DESCENDING ORDER OF EVENT BOAT NUMBER ON SATURDAY
AND ASCENDING ORDER ON SUNDAY
